August Showers

This has been our shower here in Nantucket for the past 5 days. Actually, it has been nice. Beth wants one on our new house. (we'll see)

Time Bandits

We went to a place called Plymouth planation. It's supposed to be like a living museum, where all the people there (the actors) only can relate to their "time period". If you have seen the movie "The Village" then you've got the right idea.
Note: 'Goat Boy' was a bit odd, I got the impression that he didn't know it was 2009.

Vamos a la Playa

Went to the Beach on tuesday, it was very hot, but the water was just perfect. The girls had a very good time.

Nice Day

We went to the Onterio Fort. Which was interesting & fun. After that the girls flew some kites and Beth took the Miata for a spin. (She still wants the WRX)

Quest for Fire

Uncle Dale Dewolfe Has 5 acres of woods & poison oak & ivy in for his back yard, so we had a nice cosy fire to sit by one evening. Iris like matches.

YUM

Went Blueberry picking. 24 pounds in 45 min. Now how long will it take to eat them all up?

Parks & Recreation

We Made it to up state New York on Tuesday. The drive was HOT but the scenery was interesting. (we decided to call Connee "Crazy Ivan" because of the sudden jerks to her driving)
The next day we took the girls to the park to burn off some energy. Turns out there are other things at the park that burn off energy. Very interesting backddrops.

Catching Up

Here are some pics from Wallkill, I enjoyed that more than Patterson, the tour for Patterson was mostly looking at offices. So the presses at wallkill gave the girls & us more to see.

The plastic frog at Patterson was very photogenic

"This Is Your Life"

Here are some pictures from the weekend. To answer your question Laura, the amount of people has been a little much for Iris, but she got used to it.
Tomorrow we are off to Patterson. Should be fun!

The Day After

The power came back on at around 5:30 am. Which at that point suprised me, I thought for sure we were in a for a total mess the next day. Unfortunately no one slept very well at all. Hopefully that will change tonight.
Other than that it was a good day. The Dewolfes got to see a lot of old friends and that was fun to watch ( & meet them).
Can't wait to use the new bible out in field service. (oops, for those of you that haven't been to the D C forget I said that)
Thats all for now.

"A HORSE WITH NO NAME"

Isn't she a beauty.

I don't think there is anything to add here.

Its only costing me $90.00 a night.
Where do I begin?...........When I got up this morning I really didn't know what to expect but, I knew the day would not be with out it's........shall we say "challenges".
We went out to breakfast, which was good. I had the "new england breakfast" which consisted of two pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips, two sausage links. (I think this could be served any where and called whatever depending on your location. )
As we finished up breakfast, the RAIN began. Which would normally be no problem if the car you were driving had air conditioning. Which our did not. So traveling in a monsoon going 65 mph with the windows down was a experience I will always cherish. I forgot to mention that when Connee drives on the highway she like to ride the white dotted line to left of her. This of course adds a whole new dimension to the experience.
Before you knew it we where here. Amherest. I'm not sure what to think of this place just yet. It could be that is hard to get a feel for a town that is void of electricity. Not that its normally this way, just for the past 24 hours or so. So here we are in a dark hotel room, no power at all, which means no air condtioning, no windows that open, no hot water to take a shower in the morning, no hot iron to press out clothing, no coffee in the morning.......and so on.
in fact I'm about out of power here, see you tomorrow.

DANTE'S INFERNO

Today the plan was to visit a sick relative in the hospital & then take the girls to the Boston Aquarium for some fun. What we ended up doing was taking a 8 hour journey through the several levels of the Boston underground. They say that the Earth's core is made up of molten lava, I now know that its True. Ask Beth, She got sweaty. Thats sweaty not shweaty. By the time we made it back to the surface the Aquarium was closing so we didn't go in. (Crying children). Fortunately there were some other forms of entertainment.
Tomorrow we go to Amherst for the District Convention. We will be traveling in a Chevy suburban, recently made drivable (1/2 hour ago). The air conditioning doesn't work and the back windows dont go down & Connee is driving. I CAN'T WAIT.
